Description

Deliciously chewy and salty sweet treats made with Rice Krispies and caramel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 227 g) unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup (240 g) caramel sauce, divided
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows, about 6 cups
  • 10 cups (290 g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • kosher salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. To a large pot over medium-low heat, add butter and ½ cup caramel sauce. Cook, stirring constantly until the butter has melted.
  3. Add salt and marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows have dissolved. Remove from heat.
  4. Spray a rubber spatula with nonstick spray to prevent sticking. Using the spatula, fold in the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well-coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, pressing it into an even layer.
  6. Allow the bars to cool to room temperature, 30 minutes to an hour. Garnish with the remaining caramel and more salt before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure butter and caramel are well-mixed for even flavor.
  • Let the bars cool completely for the best texture.
