A delicious and easy-to-make stir-fry featuring tender steak and fresh vegetables, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

- 2 lbs top sirloin steak, cut into chunks
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil + 1 teaspoon (divided)
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- Kosher salt, to taste
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
- 3 medium carrots, sliced
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced
- 4–5 oz mushrooms, sliced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1–2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or Japanese BBQ sauce
- Fried rice, for serving
- Yum Yum Sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak: Mix steak with mirin, garlic, ginger, 1 tsp sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Toss well. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Cook the Veggies: In a large pan, melt 2 tbsp butter with 1 tbsp sesame oil over medium heat. Add carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms. Stir often for 10–15 minutes until golden and tender. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Sear the Steak: In the same pan, melt 2 tbsp butter with 1 tbsp sesame oil over medium-high. Add marinated steak. Stir until seared and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes. Add teriyaki or BBQ sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve It Up: Plate the steak and veggies. Add fried rice and Yum Yum Sauce on the side or drizzled on top.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the veggies.
- Feel free to substitute the vegetables with your favorites.
- Letting the steak marinate longer enhances the flavor.
