Ingredients
Scale
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
- ⅛ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
- 1 tablespoon salted butter
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine salt, dried parsley, garlic powder, pepper, onion powder, and paprika thoroughly.
- Evenly sprinkle the seasoning mix on both sides of each chicken breast.
- Pour the low-sodium chicken broth into the slow cooker, then place the seasoned chicken breasts into the broth.
- Cut the salted butter into small pieces and distribute them evenly on top of the chicken breasts.
- Cover the slow cooker and set to low heat. Cook for 3 hours or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove the cooked chicken from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Ensure the chicken breasts are roughly the same size for even cooking.
- You can add fresh herbs such as thyme or rosemary for additional flavor.
- If using larger chicken breasts, increase cooking time slightly as needed.
- To reduce fat, use unsalted butter or omit butter, but it may affect juiciness.
- Use a meat thermometer to guarantee the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
