- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Brisket: Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Create the Spice Rub: In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the brisket.
- Sear the Brisket (Optional): In a hot skillet, sear the brisket for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Place in Slow Cooker: Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Add sliced onions and garlic if desired.
- Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Rest and Slice: Remove the brisket, let it rest for 15 minutes, then slice against the grain.
