  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brisket: Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Create the Spice Rub: In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the brisket.
  3. Sear the Brisket (Optional): In a hot skillet, sear the brisket for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Place in Slow Cooker: Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Add sliced onions and garlic if desired.
  5. Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  6. Rest and Slice: Remove the brisket, let it rest for 15 minutes, then slice against the grain.
