Deliciously soft baked maple donut bars that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 125 grams all-purpose flour
- 150 grams granulated sugar
- 4 grams baking powder
- 1 gram fine salt
- 2 grams ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 120 millilitres pure maple syrup
- 120 millilitres whole milk or non-dairy alternative
- 60 grams unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 120 grams powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 30 millilitres milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and line a 20×20 cm baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add maple syrup, milk, and melted butter, whisking until the mixture is smooth.
- Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring only until just combined to prevent overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the center of the oven for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean.
- Allow bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack for complete cooling.
- In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with milk until a thick yet pourable glaze forms.
- Once bars are fully cooled, drizzle glaze generously over the surface. Slice into bars and serve.
Notes
- Ensure the eggs are at room temperature for better mixing.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bars soft.
- Customize the glaze thickness by adjusting the milk quantity.
