Description

Deliciously soft baked maple donut bars that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 125 grams all-purpose flour
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 4 grams baking powder
  • 1 gram fine salt
  • 2 grams ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 120 millilitres pure maple syrup
  • 120 millilitres whole milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 60 grams unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 120 grams powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 30 millilitres milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and line a 20×20 cm baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add maple syrup, milk, and melted butter, whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring only until just combined to prevent overmixing.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the center of the oven for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean.
  6. Allow bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack for complete cooling.
  7. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with milk until a thick yet pourable glaze forms.
  8. Once bars are fully cooled, drizzle glaze generously over the surface. Slice into bars and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the eggs are at room temperature for better mixing.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bars soft.
  • Customize the glaze thickness by adjusting the milk quantity.
