Description

A quick and tasty Southern Pea Salad that combines sweet peas with crunchy vegetables and a creamy dressing.


Ingredients

  • 2 (15 oz) cans sweet peas, drained
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, cubed or shredded
  • 1/3 cup bacon bits or crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine drained sweet peas, red onion, celery, cheddar cheese, and bacon.
  2. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Gently fold the dressing into the pea mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let flavors meld.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, consider using Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
