- For the Steak:
- 1.5 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- For the Pasta & Sauce:
- 12 oz penne or rigatoni
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large onion, sliced thin
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1–2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Optional Add-ins:
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season steak strips with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, then add to the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, then remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion and red bell pepper. Sauté until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
- If using, stir in heavy cream and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta and steak back into the skillet, tossing everything together to coat in the sauce.
- Serve garnished with fresh parsley and optional add-ins like cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, or green onions.
Notes
- For extra heat, adjust the amount of red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute chicken for steak if preferred.
- Feel free to use any pasta shape you like, but avoid delicate types like angel hair.
