Description

A rich and indulgent Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie combining the sweetness of chocolate with the crunch of pecans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges as desired.
  3. In a medium bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth, then let cool slightly.
  4. In another large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the melted chocolate to the mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the pecan halves until they are evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the chocolate pecan mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pie is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  9. Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to let the filling firm up properly.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • Ensure the pie is cooled completely before slicing for the best presentation.
  • This pie can be served warm or cold, with whipped cream if desired.
