Description
A rich and indulgent Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie combining the sweetness of chocolate with the crunch of pecans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges as desired.
- In a medium bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth, then let cool slightly.
- In another large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add the melted chocolate to the mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the pecan halves until they are evenly distributed.
- Pour the chocolate pecan mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pie is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to let the filling firm up properly.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- Ensure the pie is cooled completely before slicing for the best presentation.
- This pie can be served warm or cold, with whipped cream if desired.
