Description

Indulge your loved one this Valentine’s Day with these thick and delicious M&M bars, bursting with sweetness and the perfect texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature or softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups Valentine M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper, if desired for easy removal, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue beating until combined.
  4. Add the baking soda, salt, and flour to the wet mixture, mixing slowly and then increasing to medium speed until the cookie dough comes together.
  5. Add in the chocolate chips and M&Ms, distributing throughout the cookie dough using the mixer or folding in by hand.
  6. Scoop the dough into your prepared baking pan. Spread and press the dough evenly into the pan with a spatula or your hands. Optionally add extra M&Ms to the top for color.
  7. Sprinkle the M&Ms evenly over the top, pressing them down lightly into the dough.
  8. Bake at 350° for 20-35 minutes depending on desired gooeyness; check that the top is set and not wet. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
  9. Cut the bars, serve & enjoy!

Notes

  • For gooier bars, bake on the lower end of the time range.
  • If you prefer a golden brown finish, aim for 30-35 minutes.
