A colorful and festive snack mix perfect for celebrating the 4th of July with friends and family.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • Red gel food coloring
  • 💙 Blue Batch
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • 🤍 White Batch
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ❄️ Powdered Sugar Coating
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 🍬 Mix-Ins
  • 1½ cups red, white, and blue M&M’s
  • ½ cup patriotic sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Red Batch: Place 3 cups Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl. Melt ½ cup white chocolate chips until smooth. Add a few drops of red gel food coloring and stir well. Pour over cereal and gently toss until evenly coated. Transfer to a large zip-top bag with 1⅓ cups powdered sugar. Shake until fully coated. Spread on parchment paper.
  2. Make the Blue Batch: Repeat the process using blue gel food coloring. Coat with 1⅓ cups powdered sugar. Spread on parchment paper.
  3. Make the White Batch: Melt remaining white chocolate chips. Pour over remaining cereal. Toss until coated. Transfer to a zip-top bag with 1⅓ cups powdered sugar. Shake thoroughly. Spread on parchment paper.
  4. Let Set: Allow all batches to cool and dry for about 20 minutes.
  5. Assemble: In a large bowl combine: Red puppy chow, Blue puppy chow, White puppy chow, Patriotic M&M’s, and sprinkles if desired. Gently toss together.
  6. Serve.
