Description

A delectable dessert featuring a creamy almond-flavored filling complemented by Amaretto liqueur, all nestled in a buttery crust and topped with whipped cream and toasted almonds.


Ingredients

  • 2 3.4 oz. boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup cold whole or 2% milk
  • 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 12 oz. container Cool Whip or whipped topping, divided
  • 6 oz. prepared shortbread or graham cracker crust
  • 1 cup toasted slivered almonds (optional garnish)
  • 1216 maraschino cherries (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth.
  2. Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, and Amaretto, whisking until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in 2/3 container (approximately 8 oz.) of Cool Whip, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Spread the filling evenly into the prepared crust.
  5. Top the pie filling with the remaining Cool Whip.
  6. Press maraschino cherries around the edges of the pie, about 1 inch apart.
  7. Sprinkle the top of the pie with toasted almonds.
  8. Chill until firm, at least 4 hours.
  9. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
