Description

A comforting Asian-inspired chuck roast, slow-cooked to perfection with a sweet and savory marinade, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 pounds chuck roast
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season your chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl to create your marinade.
  4. Place the chuck roast in your baking dish and pour the marinade over it.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is super tender.
  6. If you want a thicker sauce, remove the roast and simmer the marinade, adding cornstarch if desired.
  7. Slice the roast and serve over rice, drizzled with thickened sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before slicing for maximum flavor and juiciness.
