Description

Baked S’mores are an indulgent treat combining layers of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ¾ cup salted sweet cream butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 10 to 12 whole graham crackers
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 3 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows, divided into 1½ cups and 2½ cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper, leaving 2 sides higher, making a sling.
  2. Add the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla to a medium-sized mixing bowl. Stir well to coat the crumbs.
  3. Line the bottom of the baking dish with whole graham crackers, breaking them as necessary to fit.
  4. Spread ½ of the buttered crumbs over the graham crackers.
  5. Evenly sprinkle 1½ cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1½ cups of milk chocolate chips over the buttered crumbs.
  6. Evenly sprinkle 1½ cups of mini marshmallows over the chocolate.
  7. Lay another layer of graham crackers on top.
  8. Spread the remaining buttered crumbs over the new layer of graham crackers.
  9. Evenly sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the buttered crumbs, but do not top with the remaining mini marshmallows. Bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and increase the temperature to broil.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining mini marshmallows over the chocolate layer and return to the oven for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for 20 to 25 minutes, then chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before cutting.
  13. Lift the baked s’mores out of the dish using the parchment paper, and cut into 16 squares using a knife sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

Notes

  • Keep an eye on the marshmallows when broiling to prevent burning.
  • Chilling the s’mores makes them easier to cut into squares.
