- 15.25 ounce box yellow cake mix
- ½ cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or to taste)
- ¾ cup cold unsalted butter, sliced into approximately 24 pats
- Optional for serving: caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream
Instructions

- Mash about 2 1/2 bananas in the pan and spread them evenly.
- Slice the remaining 2 1/2 bananas and scatter them evenly over the mashed bananas.
- Pour the milk evenly over the banana layers.
- If using nuts, sprinkle them evenly over the pan.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over all ingredients.
- Place and distribute the sliced pats of butter over the surface.
- Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the pan.
- Do not stir or mix the ingredients together.

- Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop warm dump cake into bowls and serve with optional toppings.
Notes
- Use the ripest bananas for the best sweetness.
- Be cautious of baking times as they may vary with different ovens.
- Letting the cake cool is important for the sauce to thicken.
