A delicious and colorful Italian salad featuring a mix of meats, cheeses, and fresh vegetables, topped with a zesty dressing.
Ingredients

- 4–6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped deli ham
- 1/2 cup chopped deli turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped deli salami
- 1/2 cup chopped swiss or provolone
- 2/3 cup sliced purple onion
- 2/3 cup banana peppers
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Texas toast croutons (optional)
- Grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Arrange all of the salad ingredients (lettuce, tomatoes, onion, peppers, meats and cheese) in a large salad bowl. I recommend using a shallow salad bowl so you can see all the beautiful colors.
- Combine the dressing ingredients (red wine vinegar, dijon mustard, maple syrup, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper) in a small bowl and whisk well to emulsify while streaming in the olive oil until fully mixed.
- Pour the dressing evenly over the salad and toss to coat everything.
- Top with grated parmesan cheese and croutons if desired.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or extra banana peppers.
- Feel free to substitute the meats and cheeses according to your preference.
- This salad can be made a few hours ahead; just keep the dressing separate until ready to serve.
