Description

Delicious cheeseburger filling served in crispy wonton cups, topped with fresh lettuce, crumbled bacon, and a tangy burger sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • ½ small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp burger seasoning or steak seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup dill pickle slices, chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise (for burger sauce)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup (for burger sauce)
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard (for burger sauce)
  • 1 tbsp dill pickle relish (for burger sauce)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (for burger sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup. Lightly spray with cooking spray. Press a second wrapper into each cup at a slight angle to create a star shape.
  3. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the wrappers are golden and crisp. Remove from the oven and set aside. Leave the oven on.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, yellow mustard, burger seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes, until the liquid has mostly evaporated.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture into the baked wonton cups. Top evenly with the shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Return to the oven for 4–6 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For extra color, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, and smoked paprika to make the burger sauce.
  9. Remove the cups from the oven. Top each with shredded lettuce, crumbled bacon, and chopped pickles.
  10. Drizzle with burger sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Keep the wonton cups crispy by adding the lettuce and pickles right before serving!
