Description

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate sugar cookie bars topped with rich chocolate frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients with milk until combined.
  6. Spread batter evenly into pan.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Cool completely before frosting.
  9. Spread frosting evenly over bars.
  10. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • For best results, use room temperature butter and eggs.
  • Make sure to let the bars cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
