- 1 1/2 cups chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a pie dish.
- Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of the pie dish.
- Bake the crust for 8 to 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
- Melt the bittersweet chocolate using a microwave or double boiler and let it cool slightly.
- Beat the softened butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until creamy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Slowly pour the melted chocolate into the butter mixture and beat until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating for several minutes after each addition until the filling becomes silky and fluffy.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or overnight until fully set.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
- Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the chilled pie.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
- Slice and serve chilled.

- For best results, refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to meld.
- Use high-quality chocolate for a richer taste.
- You can adjust the sweetness of the whipped cream by adding more or less powdered sugar.
