Description

Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken is a delicious, flavorful dish featuring breaded chicken breasts topped with a sweet and savory honey feta sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Place the chicken breasts on a clean cutting board and pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper, and stir well to ensure an even mixture.
  4. Crack the two eggs into a separate shallow bowl and whisk them together until fully combined and slightly frothy.
  5. In a third shallow dish, add the panko breadcrumbs and spread them out evenly.
  6. Coat each chicken breast first in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated and lightly shaking off any excess.
  7. Dip the floured chicken breast into the beaten eggs, making sure it is completely covered in egg wash.
  8. Finally, dredge the egg-coated chicken breast in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick evenly to the surface.
  9. Place the breaded chicken breasts onto the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Drizzle the olive oil over the breaded chicken breasts, making sure each piece gets a light coating for extra crispiness during baking.
  11. Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake the chicken for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden and crispy.
  12. While the chicken bakes, prepare the hot honey feta sauce. In a small bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese and honey, stirring gently to mix them together.
  13. Once the chicken is done baking, remove it from the oven and transfer the chicken breasts to a serving platter.
  14. Spoon the hot honey feta sauce generously over each chicken breast, allowing it to melt slightly into the warm chicken.
  15. Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the chicken for an added kick of heat.
  16. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and a hint of freshness.
  17. Serve the crispy hot honey feta chicken immediately while the crust is still crispy, and enjoy!
