Description

A sweet and savory Crockpot Sticky Maple Pineapple Ham recipe that is perfect for any gathering, featuring a delicious glaze made with maple syrup and pineapple.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked spiral-sliced turkey ham (3–4 lbs)
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple rings in juice, juice reserved
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup reserved pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons cold water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the fully cooked spiral-sliced turkey ham into a 6-quart slow cooker, cut side down. Gently separate the slices slightly to allow the glaze to soak between them.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, honey, melted butter, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
  3. Pour half of the warm maple glaze over the ham, making sure it drips between the spiral slices.
  4. Arrange the pineapple rings over the top and around the sides of the ham. Spoon the remaining maple glaze over the pineapple and meat.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 2–4 hours, depending on the size and thickness of the ham, until heated thoroughly. Every 45–60 minutes, spoon the cooking juices over the ham to keep it moist and flavorful.
  6. Carefully transfer about 1 cup of cooking juices into a small saucepan. Mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thick, sticky, and glossy.
  7. For a beautiful golden finish, carefully transfer the ham and pineapple rings to a broiler-safe baking dish. Brush generously with the thickened maple glaze and broil for 2–4 minutes until the pineapple edges are golden and lightly caramelized.
  8. Return the ham to the slow cooker or transfer it to a serving platter. Arrange the caramelized pineapple rings on top and drizzle generously with the extra-sticky maple glaze.

Notes

  • Ensure the turkey ham reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
  • Watch the broiling process closely to prevent burning the glaze and pineapple.
