Description

Easter Dirt Cake Trifle is a delightful dessert that layers crushed Oreo cookies, a creamy filling, and festive candies, perfect for celebrating the spring season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14–15 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup pastel candy-coated chocolates
  • 1 cup speckled Easter eggs
  • Extra Oreo halves (for topping)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. CRUSH THE OREOS: Place the Oreo cookies (with filling) into a food processor and pulse until you get a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks. Set aside.
  2. MAKE THE CREAM CHEESE BASE: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar.
  3. PREPARE THE PUDDING: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens, then let it sit for another 2–3 minutes.
  4. COMBINE THE FILLING: Add the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture and blend until fully combined and smooth, then gently fold in the whipped topping.
  5. LAYER THE TRIFLE: In a clear trifle bowl, layer crushed Oreos, cream filling, and pastel candies until the bowl is filled.
  6. DECORATE THE TOP: Finish with whipped topping, Oreo halves, pastel eggs, and sprinkles for decoration.
  7. CHILL: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Notes

  • Allowing the trifle to chill overnight enhances the flavors.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite candies.
