A delightful and easy-to-make steamed cake made from grated cassava and topped with a rich condensed milk layer.

- 2 cups grated cassava
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup condensed milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup condensed milk (topping)
- 1 egg yolk (topping)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (topping)
Instructions
- Prepare a steamer and bring water to a gentle boil. Grease or line an 8×8-inch heatproof pan.
- Drain cassava thoroughly to remove excess moisture.
- In a bowl, mix coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt.
- Add cassava and mix until evenly combined.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Steam for 40–50 minutes until set.
- Mix topping ingredients until smooth.
- Pour topping over the cake and steam for another 10–15 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
- Slice and serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- Ensure cassava is drained well to prevent a watery texture.
- Adjust sugar according to taste preference.
- This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.
