Description

Fried French Onion Pork Chops and Rice is an easy and delicious dish featuring tender pork chops cooked in a flavorful onion mixture served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 packet Lipton French Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 bags Success white rice (or equivalent cooked rice)
  • ½¾ cup water (as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly dredge each chop in flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add pork chops and fry until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side depending on thickness.
  4. Remove chops from skillet and set aside.
  5. Add the chopped onion to the same skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring, until softened and lightly golden.
  6. Return the pork chops to the skillet with the onions. Sprinkle the French onion soup mix evenly over the chops and onions.
  7. Prepare the Success rice according to package directions.
  8. Add the cooked rice directly into the skillet with the pork chops and onions. Add ½ cup water and 1 tablespoon brown sugar.
  9. Gently stir everything together so the rice is coated in the onion mixture. Add a little more water if needed for moisture.
  10. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 5–7 minutes so the flavors come together. Serve hot straight from the skillet.
