Description

A refreshing, patriotic frozen treat for dogs made with yogurt and berries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (245 g) plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened, plain)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) coconut milk (unsweetened, full-fat or light)
  • 1 ripe banana (mashed smoothly)
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) strawberries (fresh or frozen, blended)
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) blueberries (fresh or frozen, blended separately)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) water (optional, for smoother blending)
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) chia seeds (optional, for fiber and omega-3 support)

Instructions

  1. Blend the blueberries with 2 tbsp (30 g) Greek yogurt to create the blue layer mixture.
  2. Spoon the blueberry mixture into the bottom of a large paw-shaped silicone mold and freeze for 20 to 30 minutes until slightly firm.
  3. In a bowl, mix half of the remaining Greek yogurt with half of the coconut milk to create the white middle layer.
  4. Spoon the white layer carefully over the blueberry layer and freeze again for 20 minutes.
  5. Blend the strawberries, mashed banana, remaining Greek yogurt, and remaining coconut milk until smooth for the red top layer.
  6. Spoon the strawberry mixture over the white layer to fill the mold completely.
  7. Freeze for at least 5 hours or until fully solid.
  8. Remove the frozen paw treats gently from the mold and serve immediately as a refreshing cold snack.
