Description

Grilled Sausage Kabobs are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish featuring sausage and colorful vegetables, perfect for a summer grill or indoor cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces turkey sausage, cut into ½ inch thick slices
  • 1 large red bell pepper, seeded and diced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large yellow bell pepper, seeded and diced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large red onion, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely minced
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, or smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • ⅓ cup barbecue sauce
  • Fresh herbs, optional for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak: If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  2. Preheat: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium or medium-high heat, or preheat an indoor grill pan over high heat.
  3. Combine: In a large mixing bowl, add the sausage, peppers, onions, parsley, olive oil, and toss to coat.
  4. Season and Toss: Evenly sprinkle paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and toss to coat.
  5. Skewer: Assemble the skewers in an alternating pattern of sausage and veggies, making about 8 skewers total.
  6. Grill: Place the skewers on the grill grates, cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Rotate and Baste: Rotate the skewers, brush with barbecue sauce, and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Repeat until done.
  8. Cook until the sausage and veggies are charred as desired, around 8 minutes for an outdoor grill and 10-12 minutes for an indoor grill pan.
  9. Garnish: Optionally sprinkle with fresh herbs and serve.

Notes
