Description
A delicious and healthy twist on traditional tacos, this taco salad features extra lean ground beef and plenty of fresh toppings.
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. extra lean ground beef
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 3 tbsp water
- 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- Topping Ideas: crumbled tortilla chips, shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, sliced jalapenos, sliced avocado
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
- Add in the ground beef, and season with sea salt and pepper. Break it up with a wooden spoon and brown until completely cooked through with no pink left.
- Add in the taco seasonings and water and stir well. Bring to a quick boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
- Assemble your salad. Portion out the lettuce into bowls and top with the cooked ground beef. Add your toppings and enjoy.
Notes
- For added crunch, consider using baked tortilla chips.
- Customize toppings based on your preference and dietary needs.
