Description

Delicious and festive Irish Cream Oreos are creamy truffles made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and a delightful Irish cream liqueur coating, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 tsp Irish cream liqueur (optional) or 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz green candy melts (or white chocolate with green food coloring)
  • Assorted green, white, and orange sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush them in a ziplock bag with a rolling pin.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the Oreo crumbs until well combined. Add Irish cream liqueur if desired.
  3. Chill the Mixture: Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  4. Roll into Balls: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill Again: Refrigerate or freeze the tray for 15-20 minutes to hold their shape.
  6. Melt the Candy Coating: Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions and stir until smooth.
  7. Dip the Truffles: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage, and tap off excess chocolate.
  8. Decorate While Wet: Sprinkle tops with green, white, and orange sprinkles while the coating is still wet.
  9. Let Them Set: Allow the truffles to sit at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate coating is set.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute Irish cream liqueur with vanilla extract.
  • Ensure to refrigerate the truffles to maintain their shape during the dipping process.
  • Customize the sprinkles according to your festive theme.
