Description
A simple and tasty dish featuring cod fillets baked in a flavorful lemon garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fillets cod (about 6 ounces each)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large lemon, juice and zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- to taste lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well to combine.
- Place the cod fillets in the prepared baking dish, and pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the fish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cod flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Serve the cod with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
Notes
- Make sure not to overcook the cod to maintain its moisture.
- This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
- Fresh herbs can be substituted for parsley if desired.
