- 4 beef frankfurters
- 4 hot dog buns
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce with the cooked ground beef and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until heated through.
- While the beef mixture simmers, grill or boil the beef frankfurters according to your preference until cooked through.
- Lightly toast the hot dog buns on a grill or in a toaster.
- Place each beef frank in a toasted bun, top generously with the Sloppy Joe mixture, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- If desired, place the assembled Sloppy Joe Dogs under a broiler for a minute to melt the cheese.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if using and serve hot.
