Description
A delicious beef braciole recipe that is sure to melt in your mouth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs thinly sliced flank steak
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Olive oil for drizzling
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lay the flank steak slices flat on a cutting board, and gently pound them to a thinner consistency if needed for tenderness.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chopped spinach, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Evenly distribute the filling over each slice of flank steak, leaving about half an inch from the edges.
- Starting from one end, roll each flank steak slice tightly and secure with kitchen twine or toothpicks to hold the filling inside.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Carefully place the beef rolls seam side down in the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the beef rolls, making sure they are well covered.
- Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the beef is tender and the flavors meld together.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove the twine or toothpicks before slicing the braciole into rounds.
- Serve the beef braciole on a plate, spooning extra marinara sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Presentation Tips: Serve on a rustic wooden board or a white plate for contrast, drizzle with additional marinara, and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.
- Enjoy with crusty bread or over a bed of pasta!
