Description
Deliciously juicy oven baked BBQ chicken thighs, coated in flavorful seasoning and BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons chicken seasoning
- ½ cup BBQ sauce, plus extra for serving
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs very dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl or zip-top bag.
- Add the olive oil and chicken seasoning. Toss or massage until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- When ready, preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray the wire rack with nonstick cooking spray.
- Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer on the rack.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove from the oven and brush generously with BBQ sauce.
- Switch oven to broil on high. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized. For a thicker glaze, brush with additional BBQ sauce halfway through broiling.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
- Always use a meat thermometer to check internal temperature.
- Broiling time may vary, so watch closely to avoid burning.
