Description

Peanut Butter Cup French Toast Rolls are a deliciously sweet breakfast treat combining peanut butter and chocolate spread wrapped in soft bread and dipped in a cinnamon egg mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices Soft Sandwich Bread (Crusts off)
  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Nutella or Chocolate Spread
  • 2 medium Eggs
  • 50 ml Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon Sugar (For sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts off the sandwich bread slices. Lay them out on a clean surface.
  2. Spread a generous layer of peanut butter on one side of each slice of bread, then add a layer of Nutella or chocolate spread on top. Roll the bread tightly, starting from the edge with the spreads, to create a roll-up.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and mix.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray or add a bit of butter. Dip each roll into the egg mixture, coating it thoroughly. Allow any excess to drip off before placing the rolls in the skillet.
  5. Place the coated rolls seam-side down onto the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Then, turn over and cook the other side until golden and crispy.
  6. After cooking, sprinkle the hot rolls with cinnamon sugar for an added touch of flavor.
  7. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm, perhaps garnished with some fresh fruit or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider using homemade or specialty chocolate spread.
  • These rolls can be served with maple syrup for added sweetness if desired.
