Description
These Peppermint Oreo Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat, perfect for the holiday season. They combine the classic flavor of Oreos with a refreshing hint of peppermint, all wrapped in a smooth chocolate coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 39 Oreo cookies (don’t remove the cream center!)
- 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (use less for a milder peppermint flavor)
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons espresso powder
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil or canola oil
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat and set aside.
- Place the Oreo cookies in a blender or food processor and pulse until finely ground.
- Add the cream cheese, peppermint extract, and espresso powder, then pulse until the mixture is smooth.
- Scoop the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared pan. Transfer the sheet to the freezer for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours, covered).
- In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate and oil. Microwave on low-heat in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Dunk each truffle into the melted chocolate and use a fork to ensure it’s evenly coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
- Place the coated truffles back on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle immediately with crushed candy canes.
- Refrigerate until set before serving. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a milder peppermint flavor, reduce the amount of peppermint extract.
- Make sure to keep an eye on the chocolate while melting to prevent burning.
- These truffles can be made ahead of time and stored for quick treats!
