- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange the croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, pressing gently to ensure the croissants soak up the custard.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Let the casserole cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with powdered sugar, syrup, or fresh berries.
