Description

A delicious slow-cooked ham glazed with cherry and pineapple for a perfect sweet and savory dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked, boneless spiral-sliced turkey ham (3–4 lbs)
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple rings in juice, juice reserved
  • 1 cup cherry preserves
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons cold water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ham: Place the fully cooked turkey ham in a 6-quart slow cooker, cut side down. Gently separate the spiral slices so the glaze can reach between them.
  2. Make the Cherry Pineapple Glaze: In a medium saucepan, combine cherry preserves, brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, melted butter, cinnamon, and cloves. Heat over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring until smooth.
  3. Glaze the Ham: Pour half of the warm cherry glaze over the ham, allowing it to drip between the slices.
  4. Add Pineapple and Cherries: Arrange pineapple rings over the top of the ham. Place maraschino cherries in the centers of the rings and around the ham. Pour the remaining glaze over everything.
  5. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 2–4 hours, depending on the ham’s size, until heated through. Spoon the glaze over the ham occasionally.
  6. Thicken the Glaze (Optional): Transfer some cooking liquid to a small saucepan. Mix cornstarch with cold water, stir it into the liquid, and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thick and glossy.
  7. Serve: Carefully transfer the ham to a serving platter or leave it in the slow cooker. Spoon the thick cherry glaze over the slices and garnish with warm pineapple rings and cherries.

Notes

  • For a beautiful caramelized finish like the photo, briefly broil the glazed ham and pineapple rings on an oven-safe tray for 2–4 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
