Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (28 ounces) can pork and beans
  • 812 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup Dr. Pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Parsley or green onion for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Stir gently until mixed well.
  3. Pour into a large oven-proof skillet or 9×13 baking dish.
  4. Bake for up to 2 hours. The length of baking time depends on how you like your beans. If you like a thicker, stickier bean, leave it in for 2 or more hours. If you prefer saucier beans, then 1 ½ hours might be more to your liking.
